The lady at the WIC office (who wasn’t all that pleasant to deal with) said they will only give you formula until the baby is 6 months. But my sister in law said they supplied her until her baby was 1….

Is it possible to maintain a “supply” if you only nurse at night and on the weekends?

I work in the office 3 days a week. All other days I solely nurse. Will I loose my supply if I don’t pump while at work? I am becoming rather lazy about pumping. My baby is about 5 months old, and was only on breastmilk the first 4 months. I would like to continue breastfeeding, but am not sure I want to continue pumping while at work. How will I know if it has “dried” up, and if she is not getting enough?

Will going 6 hours without pumping or nursing hinder milk supply?

I have been breastfeeding exclusivley (my baby is nearly 8 weeks) and expressing while I am at work. Tomorrow I have to be out of the office and away from my baby for 6-7 hours. I will not be able to pump (even in a bathroom) as I will not be able to get up and leave. This should be the only time I have to do this…I am SOOO afraid it will hinder my milk supply. Will it??

How can I increase my breast milk supply?

I have a 2 week old that I have just brought from the doctors office and he said he hasn’t gained as much weight as he should and I need to work on my milk supply .

He was eating about every 3 hours the first week and would only eat from one breast and then fall back asleep and I could get him back up. I had to wake him to feed him or he would sleep for about 5 hours without eating. These past few days however he has been geting up every hour and a half to 2 hours like he is starving to eat from my breast and I’m afraid hes not getting enough.

I’m not sure how to go about increasing my milk flow. How much and when shoud I pump? How much should I be expelling each time I pump….I’m so confused! Can someone please help??

I can only pump once at work? What will happen to my milk supply?

Hi,

I am only able to pump once (during my lunch hour) in my car when I return to work. I know Im going to experience pain since my breast are use to being emptied every 2 1/2 hours. But will this dramatically reduce my milk supply? My office doesn’t have a room for me to pump and the bathroom is out of the question. I plan on giving her my stored breastmilk during the day and nurse her when I get home and at night.
