Rubbing alcohol removes white out. Be careful if any of the wood has a lacquer finish. Polys or varnish are OK.

Paint thinner will work on the unfinished wood, but be cautious about using it on finished wood. Use very small amounts or you could take the finish off.

Once it dries try the Mr. Clean magic eraser. And if that does work try a mild solution of this stuff called Krud Kutter. (You can get it at Target or Lowes) Just becareful because if you let the Krud Kutter sit too long it will remove the finish off of the wood. But when sprayed on and wiped off it should be fine. This stuff works miracles.

Good Luck!
