How many times can i reinstall microsoft office with the same product key on the same computer?

office
I’m back asked:

I’ve been hit with 3 pretty bad viruses, causing me to reformat each time. I read on the microsoft office box that the key can be used for up to 3 computers. I’ve used the key 3 times, but on the same computer. I need to reinstall it again. Can I use the same product key if it is on the same computer? I’m talking about microsoft office 2007.

You can reinstall it as many times as you want. It *should* detect that you’re installing it on the exact same machine. Worst case scenario, you’ll just have to call the 1800 microsoft number and tell them you’re reactivating it because you reinstalled it and they’ll manually activate it for you. Mercuri

No seriously, You can install it as many many times as you want, You bought it and it is yours and you can do with it what you want.
Yes you can. I did it and it gave no problems at all Jan S

As the others have said, it should install as many times as you need.
The software will know that it is on the same computer from the
    the first install.

Surely it is rather drastic having to reformat a drive and have to re-install software. Whatever the virus, if you got a decent antivirus program and if you are not prepared to pay for one, there are several free on the market which you can download. When getting a computer, your first concern should always be to install a decent anti virus program, keep it updated and also anti spyware software. Reformatting should always be the very, very last resort. aresee

It means 3 different computers, not 3x on the same computer. As long as you own software, you can load it as many times as you want on your computer.

Once you activate it with the key, microsoft will detect the same hardware (namely the MOBO). Even if you change MOBO, and it doesn’t activate, you can call Microsoft and get it done via phone. brayden
