I applied for a job and took the drug test but how long does it take?

I applied for a job at a office supply store, signed the criminal background check paper, and got the drug test forms and went and had the drug test done. On top of the drug test form though for the employer, it had their corporate address and just the store number but with all the corporate address contact info. So im assuming it has to go to them first, then back up to the one I want to work at. How long should that take till I hear back?
yeah i had the interview and didnt have to pay for the drug test.

I took the drug test about a week ago though. Never done a drug in my life so I surely passed it.

It will take about a month

Drug test results are usually back from the lab in 24-48 hours and after that will depend on how corporate handles it.

If you don’t hear back within 4 or 5 business days, you might call back and ask.

You should hear back by Monday or Tuesday. Drug test results don’t take that long. I’m assuming you’ve had an interview? Most places don’t pay for the drug tests unless they want someone to work for them. As long as you passed the test, you’ll hear from them very soon.

The background check should only take a few minutes. The drug test will take longer, but with labs around the country doing testing it should only take 2-4 days for the results. If I recall correctly, the last test I had done for a job was sent in on a tuesday and I was cleared to begin work by friday.

Was it a urine drug screen? There are so many kinds out now, it could be anywhere from 5 minutes to a couple of days. If it had to be sent out, It would take about 24 or 48 hours once it gets to the lab. Your prospective employer should have the answer within a few days. Good luck with your new job!!
