Is the Microsoft Office package for windows 7 the same for windows xp?
I just need to know if the product key for microsoft office on xp would work for windows 7, because I can’t find a windows 7 Microsoft Office. So if I buy the xp version, will it install on my windows 7?

I have used Microsoft Office on Windows 7 and it works fine. Most windows XP software does work on Vista and Windows 7. BUT if you do have a problem with it there is a Windows XP compatibility program called Windows XP Mode which makes programs from XP work on Windows 7 (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx) Brett

You don’t want to get the Office naming system confused with the Windows naming system. It might be a little confusing because once upon a time they did Office XP.
Since then there has been Office 2003 and Office 2007.
Office 2010 is supposed to be released early next year. Its public beta is supposed to be out within the next week or so, and will run for free for about a year. That’s the closest thing there is to a “Windows 7″ version of Office.
Office XP should still be able to install on Windows 7, but otherwise you should probably look for one of the more recent things. But there is no “Windows 7 Microsoft Office” out there. The OS and Office are on separate development lines — it was simply a one-time thing that there was Windows XP and Office XP simultaneously. Yeti
