Office decorating/organizing ideas?
My office at work is currently very cluttered. Each day when I leave, I clean up, organize my paperwork for the next day, and leave my office tidy. When I come in the next morning and get to work, I wind up with papers strewn all over my desk. I can’t stand to sit amidst all this clutter - it seems to also clutter my thoughts.
I want to get organized so that my office looks neat and tidy and also add some personal touches. I’ve tried Office Max and Office Depot for some office supplies but I want some supplies with more of a personal touch. I’m also looking for some nice, inexpensive desk accessories and some accents for my bookshelf.
Any organization tools, supplies, or ideas would be very helpful. I would like my office to feel more comfortable and less like a mess.
Right now my office furniture consists of 1 large, oak desk the stays covered in paperwork, a greyish file cabinet, a leather swivel chair, 2 leather chairs for guest, and a bookcase to match the desk. The walls are wood panelled up to about waist high and one wall is completely wood panelled. I hope this helps for any decorating ideas.
Thanks!

Baskets & decorative boxes are great for keeping organized and would look good on your bookcase. Framed photos or certificates add a personal touch. Plants, candles, frames, vases, lanterns, or a water cascade are good for accessorizing.

In an effort to keep my office tidy I try (note I said try) to only have out one project at a time out and put it away as soon as I finish. Easier said than done. The stackable trays can sort your work into “Immediate attention” “Can wait” “Needs to file” etc. I’ve got an oversized coffee mug with several pens and pencils, scissors, straight edge and letter opener on my desk for easy access. A painted flower pot (really cheap) holds candy (or whatever) and can be painted to match any design. Dollar stores and other discount stores have picture frames and such to add a personal touch to your office. An ivy or some other easy-to-care-for plant is always nice. Remember - something doesn’t have to be spefically sold as office supplies to be useful. Hope you get lots of good ideas. Good luck.

Ok, it is not cheap, but it solved my problem. Take a look at the what is offered on this web site: The binders are a completely different system than what you can buy at OfficeMax and are effortless to use.
