I think that most people in America have two separate lives. They have their home life, and then their work life. Americans usually spend more time at their office than they do with their families, so it really is like a second home. Because of this, they may seem to themselves a different person, and worthy of a different mate. That’s what my theory would be if this were a real study. spud

In our culture, competition–and I may add, unhealthy competition as opposed to cooperation–is the rule of thumb. Rather than working together for the common good of all, individuals are rewarded for their individual contributions to the organization. This atmosphere of unhealthy competition breeds cheating, back-biting, office politics, etc. We could learn a lot from the Japanese culture when it comes to a cooperative, communal, and supportive experience. $300 please. I agree with a couple of your theories, that they dress attractively in an office setting, and that they’ve got a good mixture of men and women together. Also, they spend at least 40 hours a week together in a fairly confined space, they’re often looking their best and behaving their best, collaborating to solve problems. Quite a recipe for romance.
