where can i find second hand office chairs either unwanted or for sale?

You can set it to your city, and look under the furniture section.

you quite often get office chairs coming up for offer on Freecycle.org SLF

*find the section of town that has wholesale or used office furniture stores
*walmart has a few nice models between ($40 and up)
*try a flea market/want ads/greensheet/thrifty nickel
*try a salvation army,goodwill store near you Jose

Thrift stores, yard/garage sales. Call offices that are closing or relocating and see if they are getting rid of any furniture. Certain sects of careers publish magazines particular to their field which may contain a classified section. For instance if a hospital, attorney’s office, health clinic, accounting firm - has something to sale they may publish it in that career specific print (my FIL is an attorney and we found a vacation home to rent in a law circular). Check the want ads the local paper, of course. cottonlily84
